DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a strategic, digitally savvy, self-motivated and creative communications professional to join our Workplace and Operations Executive Communications team to lead digital channels and strategy for Amazon’s Operations and People, Experience and Technology leaders.

The ideal candidate will be based in New York, NY, Seattle, WA, or Washington, D.C. To be successful in this role, the right candidate will have solid social media, writing and digital skills. They have an ability to work cross-functionally with various communication teams, develop processes for prioritizing different types of executive content and be able to have good judgement to work closely with executives. They will be analytical, familiar with different digital channels and the latest AI tools. This individual will have experience delivering results with high standards under tight deadlines for senior leaders and be able to both develop plans and execute a vision. Collaboration and creative storytelling abilities are key.


Key job responsibilities
• Set the strategy for Workplace Executive Communications on digital & social channels.
• Leverage the executive’s messaging platform and support a steady drumbeat of executive content on digital & social channels.
• Optimize executive content based on topic, length, format, and best practices.
• Write, review and edit content in the voice of the executive.
• Source content opportunities for our executives to author or engage with related to priority reputation areas, news cycles and passion points.
• Serve as a single threaded leader responsible for supporting the development of mechanisms and processes for intaking requests for executive content on digital and developing principles and priorities around what to promote.
• Develop content featuring executives for all Amazon owned channels (including About Amazon, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
• Drive measurement and track results.
• Stay up to date on leadership trends on LinkedIn and other digital channels to shape strategy.
• Help time executive digital content to priority campaigns, aligning strategy and execution to central PR calendars.
• Build digital executive communication strategies that can pave the way for earned media coverage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience writing for an executive, news anchor, public figure or elected official.
- Experience working in executive communications, in a newsroom and/or in social media.
- Experience writing and producing short and long form executive content.
- Experience streamlining processes and managing multiple requests in a short timeframe.
- Experience with digital measurement.
- Experience working in highly cross-functional roles with multiple stakeholders across organizations.
- Experience in public relations, public affairs and reputation management.
- Experience as a local or national journalist.
- Exceptional team player with a positive attitude who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
- Exceptional creative storytelling abilities in all formats.
- Attention to detail.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
